Terrible Customer Service - HD DVR services
Then I called Customer Service (after the 14 days I guess) and requested the DVR service, and all they could do was say I was passed the date of the special and they would have to charge me $150 to install the DVR service.
A week or so later, my grandma and cousin both signed up for Direct TV and used me as a referral credit. Given this, Direct TV was still not willing to work with me on this outrageous price for DVR services.
About a week and a half ago, I called to talk to a representative and discussed ways for me to be able to get the services. I was told that I could get my own external hard drive, plug it into my Genie Lite and call to pay for the monthly DVR services. So I called today to get this set-up and now they are not only charging me a $50 upgrade fee but I have to still buy the $150 DVR kit from Direct TV.
This is seriously the worst experience I've ever had and I'm so disappointed with their willingness to work things out with me. My parents have been customers of Direct TV for over 10 years and I referred two brand new customers to this company.
If you're a new customer or about to be, I would recommend looking elsewhere or getting every possible instruction from the company before ordering or paying for anything.
